COVID-19 Notice

Important Announcement

The coronavirus (COVID-19) situation is evolving daily, and Jefferson Water and Sewer District is closely monitoring developments as they occur. Our goal is to do our part to prevent the spread of the virus while continuing to provide safe water and sewer services to our customers. The good news is the District is prepared for situations like this, we have an in place contingency plan designed to protect our water supply and the essential operations to produce and transmit safe water.

We have taken many steps to safeguard our operations and our staff. Some of the items that may affect you are listed below.

  • The District offices will be closed to customers and non-essential vendors until further notice.

For those customers who pay in person with cash or check, you may still drop off your payments in our blue drop box at the end of our driveway. Please place your payment in a sealed envelope with your account number or address, and an email if you would like a receipt sent to you. Additionally, on our website there is an option to sign up for ACH (no fee) or you may utilize the online payment portal for credit cards ($4.95 fee) or e-checks ($3.90 fee). If you do not have computer access, you may make credit card or e-check payments over the phone at 1-800-272-9829 (Jurisdiction Code 8453 required).

  • Any non-emergency in person appointments will be put on hold until further notice.

If you believe you are experiencing a water or sewer emergency, please contact our office and one of our customer service representatives will assist you and dispatch one of our operators if necessary.

  • Disconnections of services will be suspended until further notice.

This does not mean that you should forego making your normal payments. The District does have programs for hardships, extensions and payment plans for past due amounts, as well as credit programs for qualifying incidents. Please visit our website or contact our office and one of our customer service representatives will assist you.

Please be mindful of any toilet paper alternatives and whether they are flushable. Flushing non-disposable items down the toilet can cause blockages in your home’s plumbing as well as the overall sewer system infrastructure.

We want to remind customers that we are all in this together, and District staff will remain available by phone and email during normal business hours to address any needs. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.
